Jamie Daves is Co-founder & CEO at LearnerX. Jamie has been an entrepreneur and investor working at the intersection of technology, media and education for the past 15 years splitting time between New York and Silicon Valley. His experience includes co-founding the largest independent TV network in the US, Current TV; investing in and advising early-stage companies at investment firms City Light Capital and Platform Equity; and co-founding the venture philanthropy organization The Full Circle Fund. Previous to the private sector Jamie held several positions in the public and non-profit sectors including serving as a Special Assistant to the Chairman of the FCC in the Clinton Administration. He received an MBA from Stanford, a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, and is an Adjunct Professor at Parsons where he teaches the Entrepreneurship class.
Ed is Co-founder & Head of Product at LearnerX. Over the past 15 years, he’s become a leader in the fields of user experience, user-centered design and applications of interactive technologies. Prior to LearnerX, his work focused on leading the design and development of trading tools and platforms in the financial services industry as Vice President of User Experience at Goldman Sachs and prior to that as a UX leader at TD Ameritrade. Having received his Master’s from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU and BA from Tufts University, he is a committed lifelong learner himself who is passionate about education and creating new and innovative experiences. He’s also an Adjunct Professor at Parsons where he taught Designing for Usability. As a new dad, you’ll probably recognize him as the most sleep-deprived member of the team.
Sarah is Head of Program Management at LearnerX. After attending UCLA, Sarah founded 2 boutique software consulting firms implementing complex enterprise solutions for the nation’s largest organizations including Department of Treasury, UPS, Boeing and Raytheon. As a former Senior Developer and Systems Architect, Sarah has extensive experience in full-lifecycle development of applications and most recently virtualization and mobility initiatives. Her ability to take the best practices of big companies and tailor them for rapid product development of simultaneous projects made her a great fit for LearnerX. When she’s not behind a computer you’ll likely find her behind the turntables as a dj in New York and Los Angeles.
Charles is LearnerX’s Head of Partnerships and External Affairs. In this capacity, he is responsible for spearheading the overall growth and direction of the company’s strategic partnerships and new business opportunities. Charles brings years of experience as a Senior Manager in the Global Private Client Group at Sotheby’s, and before that as an Account Manager at sothebys.amazon.com and Berlin, Cameron and Partners. He also worked in Strategic Planning at the Museum of Modern Art. A graduate of Stanford University, Charles earned master’s degrees in education from the University of Pennsylvania and in business from Georgetown. He serves as a Trustee of Asia Society and Historic Hudson Valley and is a member of the President’s Council of the University of Tokyo.
Kristen is LearnerX’s UX Research & Design Lead. Kristen has a diverse background which includes undergraduate degrees in Anthropology and Fine Arts, and a graduate degree in Neuroscience and Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. For the past five years Kristen has worked in various positions that involve education, technology and design. These positions have included her two years as a Teach for America corps member in Denver, her experience as an Account Executive at Groupon, and more recently as a UX Designer and Curriculum Developer for the PET Lab at Parsons the New School for Design. A New York City native, Kristen joined the LearnerX team because she believes in producing platforms and experiences that support all types of learners, which are designed through a user-centered approach and informed by leading scientific research.
